History
The “Gewürmühle Näfels” has a long and fascinating history. It was founded by Jean Landolt in 1900.
Originally, it was used to produce spice blends and remedies, including the well-known “Magenträs,” a mixture of sandalwood, ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg that was considered a digestive aid.
Over the years, the mill was run by several generations of the Landolt family. Tina Hauser, a descendant of Jean Landolt, took over the management of the company and brought a great deal of creativity and innovative strength to the business. The brands and production were sold to the German company “Hela Schweiz AG,” and after an interim sale, the property went to azireal AG, based in Murg am Walensee, which has already been involved in various conversion projects.
The historic building is to be preserved and converted into modern commercial and residential units, while retaining its original character and ensuring sustainability.
